After an intense league stage comprising of a whopping 132 matches, the PKL 2021 has finally entered its knockout stages. First up in the playoffs, are two eliminators - where teams which finished from the third to sixth position after the league stage, will battle it out to enter the final four.
In action tonight are the UP Yoddha and Puneri Paltan followed by the Bengaluru Bulls and Gujarat Giants.

10 minutes left in the contest and the Puneri Paltan are now desperate. It is showing with some very rash advanced tackles. The pressure seems to have caught the dug out as well with coach Anup Kumar substituting captain Nitin Tomar for a young Akash Shinde, who is playing just his third PKL game.
The youngster has done well since coming in pocketing 3 points in 3 raids. This is already his best-ever PKL performance.

He is fighting a lone battle tonight for Puneri Paltan is Aslam Inamdar. Neither has he found any support from his defender nor has his partner in crime Mohit Goyat managed to do anything so far.

HALF TIME!
What a crazy period of 20 minutes. It all started with Aslam and Mohit running riot for the Paltans, but Pardeep Narwal soon turned it around in the Yoddhas' favour.
From leading 9-1 at one point, the Paltan now trails 17-25. They need some inspiration and they have just the right man in their dugout. Can Anup Kumar inspire his young brigade to a comeback? Or is the damage already done?

WHAT A PLAYERRRRR! Out comes the trademark Dubki and he returns with three touch point. He is turning back the clock is Pardeep Narwal. The young Paltans have been stunned as the veteran registers a Super 10!

A stunning super tackle from Vishal Bharadwaj as he takes Surender Gill down with the help of Hadi Tajik. But, the Iranian is shown a yellow card for neck holding - SUSPENDED FOR 2 MINUTES.

HE HAS DONE IT AGAIN, PARDEEP NARWAL HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!
This man is a beast when it comes to PKL playoffs and he is showing it again. An ankle hold attempt on the Dubki King and he not only manages to escape, but escapes with four more points.
The on mat umpires gave 3 points to the Yoddhas but the Paltan reviewed it and ended up losing 2 more men, trying to save three. WHAT DRAMA!

UP Yoddha returns the favour. Much like the first all-out, this time too the team who were wiped out have managed just a solitary point compared to 9 or the opponent.
