PKL: Patna Pirates dominate Jaipur Pink Panthers, Gujarat Giants edge U Mumba
Patna Pirates beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 38-28, Gujarat Giants edged U Mumba 34-33 in a thrilling match in the PKL on Sunday.

Patna Pirates delivered a commanding 38-28 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers, while Gujarat Giants defeated U Mumba 34-33 at the Badminton Hall in Balewadi Stadium in Pune on Sunday.
Patna Pirates showcased their dominance with a stellar performance against Jaipur Pink Panthers. Devank Dalal, the current Green Sleeve holder, was the star of the match, scoring 14 points, including his 13th Super 10 of the season. His efforts kept the Pirates in contention for a semi-final spot and secured a season double over the Panthers.
The match began with Jaipur’s Ankush Rathee securing three tackle points early, giving his team an initial lead. However, Patna’s substitution of M Sudhakar for Arkam Shaikh proved pivotal, with Shaikh delivering key tackles. Despite a strong first-half performance by Jaipur’s Arjun Deshwal, who led his team to an 18-12 halftime lead, the Pirates made a remarkable comeback in the second half.
Patna inflicted an ALL OUT on Jaipur early in the second half, thanks to some strong defensive efforts by Deepak and Ayan Lohchab. The Pirates outscored Jaipur 12-4 in the third quarter and inflicted a second ALL OUT towards the end, sealing a 10-point victory.
Gujarat Giants win a nail-biter
Gujarat Giants clinched a narrow 34-33 win over U Mumba. Rohit’s High 5, including decisive tackles in the final moments, was crucial in securing the win for the Giants.
The first half saw both teams exchange leads, with Guman Singh impressing for the Giants and Ajit Chouhan delivering for U Mumba. The Giants led 16-15 at halftime, avoiding an ALL OUT thanks to a Super Tackle by Rakesh.
The second half began with U Mumba inflicting an ALL OUT on Gujarat, led by Chouhan’s Super 10 performance. However, the Giants fought back with key raids from Guman Singh and a critical tackle by Rohit Raghav, ensuring U Mumba faced an ALL OUT.
In the final moments, with the score tied at 33-33, Gujarat’s Rohit delivered an ankle hold on Ajit Chouhan during a Do-or-Die raid, securing a one-point victory for his team.
