FC Goa were quite productive in the first half. With Iker Guarrotxena's hat trick, FC Goa was in a solid position by the half time. Brandon Fernandes' outstanding free kick allowed FC Goa to increase their lead to four goals.
Suhair Vadakkepeedika and Sarthak Golui gave East Bengal FC a chance to come back and score a few goals. However, that was never going to be sufficient to overcome the Goan challenge.
FC Goa is currently ranked third in the points standings and it almost puts an end to the playoff hopes of East Bengal FC.
