ISL 2022-23 : East Bengal beats Bengaluru FC 2 - 1 at home- Highlights

The game started with Bengaluru FC on the attacking. Their new signing Pablo perez has brought a new spark into the blues. For the first 10 minutes the visitors were pressing high and eventually East Bengal grew into the game. Naorem Mahesh, Alex Lima and V P Suhair has been impressive for the red and gold brigade. Both teams had multiple chances however failed to find the net.
In the 39th minute Naorem Singh placed a lovely through ball to Suhair Vadakkepeedika on the right wing. His first touch was heavy however he manages to place it into the box, Roshan singh manages to clear it but his hand touches the ball on the way out. Referee points to the spot and Cleiton Silva makes no mistake to give East Bengal the lead.
Bengaluru FC gradually gained control of the match as East Bengal had a strong start in the second half. Javier Hernandez dispossessed Suhair Vadakkepeedika in the 55th minute. On the right wing, Javi spotted Roy Krishna running. Krishna took the ball off the left wing, outran Ivan Gonzalez, and cut it back into the penalty area. Javier Hernandez continued to move forward and was in position to receive the cross. For Bengaluru FC to draw even, he tapped it into the open goal.
Up until the end of regulation time, it appeared that the game would conclude in a tie. Both teams fought to the very end to score the winning goal, but nothing came of it. Danish Farooq fouled Cleiton Silva outside the box in the 90th minute. Gurpreet Singh was helpless as a result of a free kick that Celiton expertly curled into the goal. After scoring the winning goal, the Brazilian paid tribute to Pele.
With this victory, East Bengal ended the year on a positive note and rose to eighth place. Bengaluru FC's battle is still going strong as they fall back to ninth place in the standings.
