ISL 2022-23: Mumbai City FC thrash Bengaluru FC 4-0 - Highlights
Mumbai City FC closes the gap at the top with a convincing win against Bengaluru FC.
Mumbai City FC doled out a 4-0 drubbing to Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League on Thursday, at the Mumbai Football Arena. With these three points, the Islanders are just within a point of table-toppers Hyderabad FC.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz opened the account in the 14th minute taking advantage of a defensive error from defender Alan Costa. Soon after in the first half itself, Rahul Bheke played a through ball to Greg Stewart who squared it to Bipin Singh. The trailing ball ultimately found Apuia who made no mistake doubling the lead of the hosts in the 32nd minute.
It was a similar story of sheer dominance from the home team in the second half. Bipin Singh slotted in the third at the 58th minute which almost ended Bengaluru FC's hopes. Simon Grayson's men tried to make a comeback and created multiple chances but Lallianzuala Chhangte scored the fourth of the night at the 74th minute making sure Des Buckingham was the happier of the two English coaches.
After this match, Mumbai continue their unbeaten run and solidify their position in second place while Bengaluru FC drop a place to 10th with back-to-back defeats in the league.
