IOS Sports Signs Premier Indian Rally Car Driver Garima Avtar

IOS Sports & Entertainment, country’s leading sports management group on February 14 announced the signing of premier Indian woman rally car driver Garima Avtar. She has made a mark in the male dominated sport and worked as a professional driver for Mercedes Benz Luxe Drive for three years. She trained under one of the finest Indian rally car driver Gaurav Gill in 2014.

Avtar joins the long list of elite athletes managed by the company that includes boxing superstars MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singh, IAAF World U-20 Champion in 400m and Asian Games 2018 gold medallist Hima Das, Commonwealth Games 2018 gold medallists Manika Batra, Mirabai Chanu, Asian Games 2018 Gold medallist Jinson Johnson and captains of Indian men and women's hockey team Manpreet Singh and Rani Rampal respectively, World No.10 men’s doubles badminton pair Chirag Shetty and Satwik Rankireddy.

The Noida-based rally driver has participated in all the mega motorsports competitions in India, including, the Indian Rally Championship, Raid De Himalaya, Desert Storm, the Mughal Rally and the Autocross and Speed Sprints.

She has received numerous awards including the Asian Achievement Award for outstanding work in rally racing and setting an example for young minds and upcoming millennials. She has been felicitated as Superwoman of Delhi NCR as well as SuperMom by Radio One 94.3 FM. Her career in motorsports began with the coveted Team Mahindra and she has won laurels at the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm Rally and Raid De Himalayas. She had also bagged the Best Female Driver Award in 2013.

Apart from her contribution on the motorsport circuit, she has also worn many other hats. She was the ex-corporate Vice President (VP) at Delton Cables Ltd, country chairperson, India for Motorsport of All Ladies League & Women Economic Forum. Besides these, Avtar is also a model, an avid golfer and a trained sufi singer.
