India rout Japan 8-0 in their 9th to 16th placed classification match.
India will play the 9th-16th classification match on Thursday. (HI)
Hosts India, on Thursday, put eight goals past a hapless Japan to register a massive win and move into the 9th to 12th place classification round at the 2023 Men's Hockey World Cup.
Two goals apiece for Abhishek and skipper Harmanpreet Singh and one each for Mandeep Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Sukhjeet and Manpreet Singh helped India to a easy victory.

That also brings an end to the first quarter dominated by India. The men in blue had multiple circle penetrations and enjoyed a higher possession as well, but they have failed to open the scoring even after two PCs.
