The first quarter was tightly contested, but the Warriors just ran away with it later. The Tigers did seem to have control in the third quarter, but they just could not find the equaliser after Udita opened the scoring for them.

The Warriors move to the top of the table with this win, while the Tigers have a lot of questions to answer.

The inevitable has happened. Odisha Warriors, touted as the favourites before the tournament began, have just blown away the Rarh Bengal Tigers in Rourkela.

The Warriors took the lead in the second quarter after a tight first quarter and then never looked back. Though the Tigers managed to pull one back late in the first half, the home team was never troubled.

With a noisy crowd backing them up, the Odisha Warriors go up to the top of the table.

An aerial ball into the circle from Odisha Warriors and Udita fails to intercept it. Instead, Michelle Fillet brings it down cleanly. Fillet is unmarked. She gets the ball in control, looks up and passes the ball to Neha Goyal.

The Odisha Warriors captain doesn't need any second invitation. She slots it in with a powerful drive and then raises her stick to acknowledge the crowd.

Just over five minutes left in the contest and it seems unlikely that the Tigers will force their way back into the match here. The Warriors are all set to climb to the top of the points table.

51' - Yibbi Jansen is now the leading goal scorer in WHIL

She scored the first goal of the Women's Hockey India League and she is now the highest goal scorer in the tournament. The two drag flicks today takes her tally to four goals - two more than the second-placed Baljeet Kaur, her teammate.

49' - SAVE, GRACE!

Another penalty corner for Odisha Warriors and Yibbi Jansen is on target yet again with a fiery drag flick. However, Grace O Hanlon does well to block it and deny the Warriors.

The Odisha Warriors earn a penalty corner and they have extended their lead. Yibbi Jansen with the drag flick and she yet again beats the goalkeeper towards her low right corner. 

Still over 13 minutes left in this match, but the Warriors might have sealed this already.

End of a rather sedate third quarter. The Bengal Tigers were visibly more dominant, but the Odisha Warriors have held on well to stop them from equalising.
