Highlights as Odisha Warriors beat Rarh Bengal Tigers in the Women's Hockey India League
Women's HIL Highlights: The Odisha Warriors climbed to the top of the table with a 4-1 win over the Rarh Bengal Tigers in the 2024-25 Women's Hockey India League at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Sunday.
Michelle Fillet opened the scoring for the Warriors early in the second quarter before Yibbi Jansen doubled their lead just minutes later.
The Tigers pulled one back, thanks to Udita's drag flick towards the end of the first half. However, the Warriors killed off the match in the fourth quarter with Jansen scoring her second and captain Neha Goyal also piling on the Tigers' misery.

The first quarter was tightly contested, but the Warriors just ran away with it later. The Tigers did seem to have control in the third quarter, but they just could not find the equaliser after Udita opened the scoring for them.

FULL TIME!
The inevitable has happened. Odisha Warriors, touted as the favourites before the tournament began, have just blown away the Rarh Bengal Tigers in Rourkela.
The Warriors took the lead in the second quarter after a tight first quarter and then never looked back. Though the Tigers managed to pull one back late in the first half, the home team was never troubled.
With a noisy crowd backing them up, the Odisha Warriors go up to the top of the table.

An aerial ball into the circle from Odisha Warriors and Udita fails to intercept it. Instead, Michelle Fillet brings it down cleanly. Fillet is unmarked. She gets the ball in control, looks up and passes the ball to Neha Goyal.
The Odisha Warriors captain doesn't need any second invitation. She slots it in with a powerful drive and then raises her stick to acknowledge the crowd.

End of a rather sedate third quarter. The Bengal Tigers were visibly more dominant, but the Odisha Warriors have held on well to stop them from equalising.
