44' - Soorma miss back-to-back PCs!

Soorma Hockey Club once again miss two back to back PCs. The Pipers are feeling the heat.

43' - GOAL DISALLOWED, SOORMA!

Drama, Drama, and more drama in Ranchi. Soorma Hockey Club have been disallowed a goal.

Its a PC for Soorma and the first one takes a defender's foot. They try a variation for the second time and it clips the first rusher's feet. Jyoti with the third drag flick and it goes through between the goalkeeper Elodie Picard's legs.

A massive chaos ensues right in front of the goalline with Picard completely off balance. Sharmila Devi, the injector, gets the final touch and slots the ball in. 

The umpire gives the goal and immediately asks for a review. "Is there any reason to not give a goal?" he asks.

The third umpire, after watching the replays, feel the ball was high, before it went between Picard's legs. The goal has been struck down. Pipers continue to lead.

39' - SAVE, SOLANKI!

The Soorma Hockey Club are now posing serious questions to the Delhi SG Pipers. The latter's defence, however, has stood tall. In what was the first occasion they erred, Bansari Solanki with a good save to keep her side in the lead.

38' - Pipers miss PC!

Sunlelita Toppo and Sangita Kumari combine to earn a penalty corner for Delhi SG Pipers. But as usual, the PC routine is not the best. A slow injection and not the best of drag flicks either. No troubles caused.

37' - Pipers get a green card

Mumtaz Khan picks up a green card. The Delhi SG Pipers are down to ten players for the next two minutes. Can the Soorma Hockey Club take advantage?

34' - Good defence from Mumtaz

The Soorma Hockey Club try to penetrate the circle right down the centre but the young Mumtaz Khan, usually known for her goal scoring prowess, comes up with a good tackle and steal.

HALF TIME!

The Delhi SG Pipers were quite clearly the better side and they have earned their reward - a first ever goal in the inaugural edition of the league. It took them three matches but they will take it.

The Pipers would feel they could have scored more in the first thirty minutes but finishing inside the circle has been their biggest problem, hasn't it?

Soorma, meanwhile, has looked very un-Soormalike and are struggling. They have barely had any threatening runs and need to figure something out soon.
