Ranchi (Jharkhand), 29 January 2018: Action in the 8th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2018 (B Division) continued here today into its fourth day which saw Steel Plant Sports Board, Hockey Bihar, Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru Hockey Association, all register victories in their respective pool matches of the competition.
In a Pool A match, Steel Plant Sports Board registered their second victory of the competition as they triumphed 2-1 over Hockey Madhya Bharat in a close encounter. The match saw Steel Plant Sports Board score the first goal early as Prabhjot Kaur found the back of the net in the 4th minute and scored her second in the 30th minute which saw her team see off the threat produced by Hockey Madhya Bharat. The only goal for Hockey Madhya Bharat was scored by their skipper Puja Kumari in the 17th minute.
In another Pool A match, Hockey Bihar also won their second match of the competition as they defeated Telangana Hockey by an impressive scoreline of 8-1. The match saw Hockey Bihar dominate the proceedings from the start as they scored two goals each in the first two quarters to stamp their authority and continued their attacking form as they scored two goals each again in the last two quarters. Goals in the 8-1 win for Hockey Bihar were contributed by captain Shilwanti Minjur (4', 21', 23'), Aprajita Kumari (36', 54'), Mariam Champia (12'), Nusrat Khatoon (44') and Dolly Kumari (46') while Shruthi Kaushik (39') scored the only goal for Telangana Hockey.

In Pool B, Hockey Chandigarh registered their second victory of the tournament as they beat Hockey Uttarakhand by a score line of 4-0. Hockey Chandigarh started the match well as they scored in the 15th minute through Shweta to take a 1-0 lead and kept the momentum going as they scored their second in the 28th minute through Sarabdeep Kaur. It was Hockey Chandigarh's Manju who scored a brace in the fourth quarter of the match to secure a 4-0 victory for her team as she found the back of the net in the 46th and 50th minutes.
In another Pool B match, Kerala Hockey maintained their 100% run in the competition as they won their third consecutive match to stay top of the Pool, after beating Hockey Andhra Pradesh by a margin of 3-0. Kerala Hockey started the match aggressively as they scored the first of their three goals in the 8th minute through KM Arya. A brace scored by S Sibya secured all the three points for Kerala Hockey as their player scored in the 36th and 50th minutes.
In Pool C, Bengaluru Hockey Association won their second match of the competition as they defeated Bengal Hockey Association with a margin of 4-1. Goals for Bengaluru Hockey Association came early as they lead 3-0 at the end of the second quarter and wrapped up the victory with a fourth goal which was scored in the 52nd minute. Tanvi Jain (2', 52'), skipper S Sandra (17') and Mahira Alvares (25') scored the goals for Bengaluru Hockey Association while Manisha Bhakat scored the only goal for Bengal Hockey Association in the 39th minute.
