19' - Said limps off

Not a good sign for Oman as Said copes a blow to his leg and limps off the field. He takes a hit from the ball inside the circle as Talem looked for a pass.

He is down on pain. Some delay in proceedings as the doctor rushes out. Said limps off, thankfully doesn't need a stretcher. 

Oman had a few injuries yesterday as well during their World Cup opener. They would hope this is not too serious.

17' - INDIA SCOREEEE!

India have finally extended their lead. Of course, not from a PC.

Manmeet Singh receives the ball inside the circle and he has a beautiful first touch. He then turns nearly 180-degree and fires in a shot. 

Al Naabi Ahmed, after multiple PC saves, can't save this one. The ball goes into the net and the Indians have a smile on their face.

Yes, you are right. Two more PCs and two more chances gone begging. This is getting painful to watch now both from a drag flicking and open defensive point of view.

16' - Same old, same old

Oman giveth penalty corners, Oman taketh away. 

The fifth PC of the night and this time its Shardanand Tiwari with the drag flicking duties for India. The shot has a lot of power, but Oman's left postman has it in control. He blocks the drag flick with his stick and then lets out a loud roar, much to the dismay of the crowd in Chennai.

Note that, it is raining in Chennai currently. The entire first quarter was played in the rain pouring down and the start of the second quarter is no different.

The entire state of TN is on high alert as we speak with cyclone Ditwah nearing.

15' - Good PC defence from Oman

A penalty corner for India and this time Rohit's drag flick is blunted out by Oman's first rusher. This is exceptional PC-defending from Oman. They have managed to stay afloat despite so many errors inside circle during open play.

That also brings an end to the first quarter.

No, they can't. Talem Priyobarta with the drag flick this time and it is not even on target this time around. Way wide of the post as India miss another chance.

Another penalty corner for India and they fail to make use of it yet again. The first drag flick hits the back of the net but the umpire had already blown her whistle for an infringement before the shot was taken.

Anmol Ekka's second drag flick is blocked comfortably by the goalkeeper.

A penalty corner for India as the striker does some smart work inside the circle, turns 360-degree and pushes the ball to a defender's foot.

The drag flick from skipper Rohit is, however, blocked by the Omani goalkeeper.

Less than four minutes is all it took for India to net their first goal of the night. Arshdeep Singh receives the ball on the left baseline.

He displays some 3d skills to run into the circle and slots the ball past the goalkeeper from a narrow angle. Beautiful from Arshdeep!
