Hockey India Junior Women National C'ship set to begin on Sept 30
As many as 26 teams will compete for the trophy, with the final scheduled for October 10.
The 14th edition of the Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2024 is all set to begin on Monday at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
As many as 26 teams will compete for the trophy, with the final scheduled for October 10.
The top teams from each pool will qualify for quarter-finals which will be played on October 7, followed by the semifinals which will take place on October 9.
The winners of the semifinals will face off each other in the final whereas the losing teams in the semifinal will compete with each other for the bronze medal on October 10.
The opening day will feature five matches. Punjab will face off against Jammu & Kashmir in Pool F.
Maharashtra and Chandigarh will compete with Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu and Arunachal Pradesh respectively in Pool G. Uttar Pradesh will be taking on Gujarat in Pool H whereas Jharkhand will play against Rajasthan in Pool B.
The teams are divided into eight pools:
Pool A: Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala
Pool B: Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu
Pool C: Assam, Haryana, Manipur
Pool D: Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Puducherry
Pool E: Odisha, Bengal, Bihar
Pool F: Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab
Pool G: Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Hockey Arunachal, Hockey Chandigarh, Maharashtra
Pool H: Gujarat, Himachal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh
