Germany scored in the last minute of Q1 to go 1-0 ahead. Four goals were scored in a frantic Q2 before India got one back in Q4 to lose by 2-4.
India lost 2-4 to Germany in the semifinal of the Junior Hockey World Cup on Friday, December 3 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Germany scored in the last minute of Q1 to go 1-0 ahead. Four goals were scored in a frantic passage of play in Q2 as Germany went into the second half with a 4-1 lead. India got one goal back in the last minute of the game to lose by 2-4.
Earlier, the Indian Colts beat Belgium 1-0 in the quarterfinal showing some strong defensive work. This was after the hosts had a horrid start against France in their first match, beat Canada 13-1, then thrashed Poland 8-2 in a must-win encounter. They will now face the biggest challenge of the tournament when they take on Germany, who have won this tournament for the most times.
India will now face France in the 3rd place match on Sunday, while France play Argentina in the final.
