The Indian men's hockey team took on Olympic silver medalist Germany in the first match of the Hockey test series at home in New Delhi's Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

India had a horrible start to their two-match test series against Germany at home and lost the first match 0-2 at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
The Indian team had many goal-scoring opportunities in the German final third but they missed those chances by some off-target shots which included a miss on the Penalty stoke in first half.
