HIL: Team Gonasika secure a shootout win to see off Toofans- Highlights

Gonasika edged past Hyderabad Toofans in a thrilling encounter, winning the match in a penalty shootout after a dramatic 3-3 draw in regulation time.

Toofans started strong, with Jacob Anderson scoring in the very first minute via a field goal, followed by Tim Brand doubling the lead in the 6th minute. However, Gonasika responded well, earning a penalty stroke in the 12th minute, which Victor Charlet converted to pull one back.

The second quarter saw end-to-end action as both teams traded penalty corner goals—Amandeep Lakra extended Toofans’ lead to 3-1 in the 25th minute, but Araijeet Singh Hundal converted another penalty stroke for Gonasika just a minute earlier in the 24th minute, ensuring they stayed within touching distance.

With a 3-2 lead going into the final quarter, Toofans tried to hold on, but Victor Charlet struck again in the 55th minute from a penalty corner to level the game at 3-3, sending the match into a penalty shootout.

In the shootout, Gonasika held their nerve, converting three of their four attempts, while Toofans faltered under pressure, missing multiple chances. Gonasika completed their comeback and secured a hard-fought victory!
