The league stage of the Hockey India League is almost at an end, with only two matches left.
In the penultimate match, we have JSW Soorma Hockey Club taking on the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, on Wednesday.
Bengal Tigers, the league leaders, have a chance to seal their top spot with a win but they also know a loss here means they could be pushed down the standings.
Soorma Hockey Club also have the chance to finish at the top should they get an outright win and other results go their way.

Bengal win a PC and like how it has gone for them in this match, they completely make a mess of it and Soorma launch a rapid counter attack and win a PC for themsleves at the other end!
But thankfully for the Tigers, Harmanpreet put the ball wide!

HT: Soorma go in with the lead!
SOORMA HOCKEY CLUB 1-0 BENGAL TIGERS
Gurjant's solitary goal is the point of difference between the two sides, but Soorma have been the better side in the first half.
Bengal have hardly had a go at the Soorma goal and that is largely due to how well the Soorma midfield has kept things in their control.
If the scoreline stays the same, Soorma will make it to the final four.

Pawan hits a powerful backhand shot from the left side and it just goes wide.
Soorma are finishing the half just as strongly as they have played the entirety of the first half.

Phil Roper drives the ball down the left and hits a powerful shot but the keeper was ready for it and saved it.
Soorma continue to dominate the proceedings while Bengal are holding on.

Soorma came into this match needing at least a point to make it to the semis and so far, it is job well done by the men in blue.
Gurjant Singh broke the deadlock for Soorma at the tenth minute and Soorma have dominated the match so far, having complete control over the midfield.

Soorma win a PC but Harmanpreet's shot is wide of the goal thanks to the deflection from the incoming defender.
The resulting long corner doesn't bring much fruition to the men in blue.

10' Soorma take the lead! Gurjant Singh gets on the end of a good move!

Gurjant Singh puts himself in the right place, at the right time and makes it 1-0 for Soorma.
The ball played from the right was diverted into the open net and the referee initially deemed it to come off the leg but after a Soorma referral, overturned his decision and awarded the goal.

What a chance for Bengal
From the left side, Pardeep Singh Mor unleashes a powerful shot and Bengal's no.9 Sebastien Dockier was placed right by the goal to deflect it in but somehow, the pace was too much on the ball which hit the post and ricocheted out of danger.
Huge let off for Soorma.
