HIL Semi-Final: Rarh Bengal Tigers beats Tamil Nadu Dragons – Highlights
Highlights from the first semi-final of the Hockey India League between Rarh Bengal Tigers and Tamil Nadu Dragons.

HIL Highlights: The table toppers Rarh Bengal Tigers overcame the Tamil Nadu Dragons 6-5 in a tense penalty shootout to book their spot in the final of the 2024-25 Hockey India League at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Friday.
The Tigers came from behind twice in the regulation time to force a shootout before following the trend in there as well.
Nathan Ephraums and Karthi Selvam scored for the Dragons, whereas as Pardeep Singh Sandhu and Sam Lane found the net for the Tigers.
Tigers goalkeeper James Carr was named Player of the Match for his exploits in the shootout.

The Tamil Nadu Dragons are now slowly growing into the match. They have put behind the early nerves and are now eager to press forward. A bit of more ball control too now for Amit Rohidas and co.

The first real run into the circle by the Tamil Nadu Dragons and they earn a penalty corner. They have the best PC conversion rate in the tournament, can they find one early today?
No, they can't. Jip Janssen's first drag flick hits the first rusher Hayden Beltz in the legs before their second attempt, which is on target, is deflected away by the Tigers goalkeeper James Carr.
The drag flick was fired towards low right of Carr but it was just not enough to trouble the Australian.

4' - Good defence from Kothajit
A good run into the circle by Sukhjeet from the left for the Tigers and Kothajit Singh does well to steal it away from him with ease.
The Tigers are looking confident. They have the early control with the Dragons looking a bit tentative.

3' - Poor injection from Tigers
Abhishek with the PC injection and it is poor. Sebastien Dockier does decent to get trap it but he has to take a shot himself as well. He does it but the ball is dangerous. Free out for the Dragons and that's a chance wasted for the Tigers.

HEAD TO HEAD
The two teams faced off once in the league stage, where Tamil Nadu Dragons registered a comfortable 2-1 victory after taking the lead in the third quarter.
Uttaam Singh and Karthi Selvam had found the net for the Dragons, while skipper Rupinder Pal Singh scored a penalty stroke for the Tigers.
