HIL Semi-Final: Rarh Bengal Tigers beats Tamil Nadu Dragons – Highlights
Highlights from the first semi-final of the Hockey India League between Rarh Bengal Tigers and Tamil Nadu Dragons.

HIL Highlights: The table toppers Rarh Bengal Tigers overcame the Tamil Nadu Dragons 6-5 in a tense penalty shootout to book their spot in the final of the 2024-25 Hockey India League at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Friday.
The Tigers came from behind twice in the regulation time to force a shootout before following the trend in there as well.
Nathan Ephraums and Karthi Selvam scored for the Dragons, whereas as Pardeep Singh Sandhu and Sam Lane found the net for the Tigers.
Tigers goalkeeper James Carr was named Player of the Match for his exploits in the shootout.

Abhishek up next for the Tigers and David Harte closes the angle well to deny, whereas Abharan Sudev had an empty goal after all the hardwork but fails to find the goal. THAT's A BAD MISS!

Uttam Singh misses seconds later for the Dragons, thanks to a good save from Carr.

Dragons LEAD
Florent van Aubel first up for the Tigers and David Harte denies him with a save. No celebrations from the goalkeeper this time.
Meanwhile, Ludwig Moritz gets the better of James Carr as the Dragons take the lead.

FULL TIME!
The first finalist of the 2024-25 Hockey India League will be decided on a penalty shoot-out.
A excellent match with the Rarh Bengal Tigers coming back twice in the match to keep themselves in contention for that spot in the final.
Nathan Ephraums and Karthi Selvam put the Dragons ahead twice but their goals were negated by Pardeep Sandhu and Sam Lane respectively.
The Tigers were down to ten men for almost the entire third quarter, but they kept at it to ensure that the Dragons don't run away it. A fantastic contest which heads into a cruel system to decide the winner.

A good steal in the mid-field from Sukhjeet Singh and he is off on a counter-attack. The as far as the right baseline and is dribbling to find a way in.
However, Amit Rohidas once again with a brilliant defensive work as he gets the touch to cut the move down.

54' - GOAL DISALLOWED, TIGERS!
Drama, drama, and more drama at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium.
The Rarh Bengal Tigers earn another penalty corner and this time Jugraj Singh slots it in with his drag flick to help his side take the lead for the first time in the match.
However, the Tamil Nadu Dragons have asked for a review. What are they reviewing here?
Oh, the replays show the PC injection never went outside the circle. The Tigers trapped the ball on the line of the shooting circle. The goal has been disallowed!
Just as the goal is overturned the on field umpires also ask the TV umpire to check for a foot inside the circle. There was none and so there's no second penalty corner for the Tigers.

53' - TIGERS EQUALISE!
OH WOW! After all that drama over the penalty corner, the Rarh Bengal Tigers have equalised from the long corner which they were awarded after the overturned PC.
Some good passing inside the circle from the Tigers before the ball finds Sam Lane right in front of the goal. Lane makes amends for his mistake just moments ago and slots it in.
