HIL Highlights: UP Rudras blank Soorma Hockey Club – Updates, Results
Highlights as UP Rudras beat Soorma Hockey Club 3-0 in the Hockey India League.

HIL Highlights: The UP Rudras continued their merry ways in the Hockey India League with a second outright win as they took down a strong Soorma Hockey Club 3-0 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Three Indians – Sudeep Chirmako, Jobanpreet Singh, and Akashdeep Singh – found the net for the Rudras as they move to the top of the table. The Soorma, meanwhile, missed ten penalty corners in what was a sorry night for them.

4' - SAVE, MAZARELO!
James Mazarelo continues from where he had left off in the last match. A nice aerial ball into the circle from the Soorma and Prabhjot Singh does well to bring it in control. But his shot is not the best and Mazarelo is already halfway down the goal to cut down the angle.
It hits the goalkeeper's shin and deflects away.

2' - UP RUDRAS SCOREEE!
Much like the last match, the UP Rudras start on an aggressive fashion and they reap rewards this time. They penetrate from the left and the Soorma defence just crumbles despite having a chance to clear the ball.
Lalit Kumar Upadhyay fails to connect his shot, but the ball goes to Sudeep Chirmako, who slots it in. Second goal of the tournament for Chirmako.

Khel Ratna for Harmanpreet Singh
ICYMI, the Indian men's hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh is all set to be conferred with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna – India's highest sporting honour – later this month.
Harmanpreet will enter the field at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, leading the Soorma Hockey Club minutes from now.
The others who will receive this award include double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, youngest world chess champion Gukesh Dommaraju, and Paralympic gold medallist Praveen Kumar.

Form Guide
Both the Soorma Hockey Club and UP Rudras have played a match apiece at the Hockey India League and won it in contrasting ways.
While the Soorma Hockey Club had to dig deep to earn a bonus point as their match against Tamil Nadu Dragons headed into a shoot-out, the UP Rudras registered an outright win over the Kalinga Lancers – majorly thanks to their goalkeeper James Mazarelo.
The Rudras sit second on the points table currently, while Soorma is fourth.
