The first day of the auctions of the returning Hockey India League commenced with more than 600 men's players going under the hammer.
Eight teams were in the fray to get the services of the best hockey players in the world.
The teams have a purse of four crores and have to take 24 players in with the team composition being 16 Indian players (four mandatory U21 players) and eight overseas players.
