Four hockey players killed in a car crash in Madhya Pradesh
The mishap occurred when a truck collided head-on with a speeding Bolero, which in turn hit their car and claimed their lives.
In a tragic turn of events, four national-level hockey players have been killed while three others suffered fatal injuries after their car was hit by a car-truck collision on the main national highway near Raisalpur village of Hoshangabad district in Madhya Pradesh.
The mishap occurred when a truck collided head-on with a speeding Bolero, which in turn hit their car and claimed their lives. The station control room, Hoshangabad police station, told The Bridge:
According to the police, Shehnawaz Hussain of Indore, Adarsh Hardua and Aniket Varun of Gwalior, and Ashish Lal lost their lives when the Bolero, travelling at a break-neck speed, rammed into the car that they were travelling in. “The investigation process is still underway, we are yet to identify the accused,” said a police officer, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
The players represented Mansarovar Club Bhopal in the tournament. All the three injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Hoshangabad district, while the condition of one remains to be critical, the police said.
