FIH Women's World Cup Highlights: India lived to fight another day at the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup on Thursday, holding England to a 0-0 draw to qualify for the next phase.
India started on a positive note in the opening quarter, pressing forward with intent. They created multiple chances but failed to convert.
However, once England settled in, they took over the contest. They dominated the proceedings from then on for most of the match but India held strong.
The Indian defence was water tight, especially during the 11 penalty corners England had during the contest.
A last minute save from Bichu Devi at the goal, helped India earn a point and book their spot in Phase 2.

HALF TIME!
There goes the hooter and that's the end of the first half.
India dominated most of the first quarter, but England fought back in the latter stages. The second quarter saw England enjoy most of the possession, but for the longest of time India ensured that there was no real threat at the goal.
Both teams have missed multiple penalty corners as the deadlock remains.
India will have to push early on the other side of the break with England set to start with just ten players.

The Indian defence opened up as Darcy Bourne finds open space in the middle of the circle.
Bourne receives the ball and unleashes a reverse hit. But it is very high over the goal post.
