The Indian women's hockey team began its campaign at the FIH Pro League 2024-25 with the season opener against England at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar on Saturday.
The Indian team, fresh from the success of the inaugural Women's Hockey India League, was aiming for a good start to the first leg of the FIH Pro League season at home.

Indian team scored its second goal of the match and once again it was on a penalty corner when Deepika converted her drag flick into the goal.
England didn't have as many chances as in the first quarter and hence couldn't find an equalizer for the second time in the match.

After an exciting opening quarter, the scores are on level terms as England found a deserving equalizer in the 12th minute, thanks to its continuous high press which forced the Indian defense to make a mistake.
Earlier, the Indian team started the scoring when Vaishnavi scored the opening goal of the match in the 6th minute.
