The tickets for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 - preliminary joint qualification round 2 match between India and Oman are open for sale. The match will be played at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on September 5.

The tickets, which will be available on Bookmyshow have been priced at INR 200 and INR 100 while the students are privy to avail those at INR 50. The Indian team is slated to arrive in Guwahati on September 2. A massive turnout to support the Blue colts are also expected with the presence of local players like Halicharan Narzary and Vinit Rai. Apart from that Amarjit Singh and Lallianzuala Chhangte are other players from the region in the team India.

Assam Football Association (AFA) president Naba Kumar Doley said that they are expecting a full house.

“Out of 23,000 total tickets, 15,000 tickets will be out for sale and the rest will be reserved for various football associations and former players,” said Doley.

He added, “We also want more students and youngsters to come and watch the game. It’s a great opportunity for us and the region.”

AFA secretary Hemendra Nath Brahma updated that the preparations for the marquee match are almost completed. An organizing committee, under the aegis of the state’s chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the chief patron has also been formed for smooth running of operations.

India head coach Igor Stimac has narrowed down his squad to 28 players from 34. The likes of defenders Salam Ranjan Singh, Anwar Ali and Jerry Lalrinzuala, strikers Farukh Choudhary and Jobby Justin and midfielder Pronay Halder have been released.

The Indian team was handed a comparatively easy draw for the World Cup second round Asian qualifiers, being clubbed with Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Group E.
