Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy revealed that the Telangana government intends to adopt the national under-17 football team, offering them specialized training within the state.

This initiative was made public during the inauguration of the Chief Minister’s Cup, a sports event organized by the Telangana Sports Authority.

Addressing the audience, CM Revanth criticized the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government for what he described as a decade of neglect towards sports development.

He emphasized the Congress government's commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a global sports hub.

The Chief Minister highlighted various support measures for athletes, including job opportunities, housing provisions, and financial aid for notable sports figures like Nikhat Zareen and Mohammad Siraj.

He reiterated the government's plans to establish a Young India Sports University and create coaching centers and academies focused on nurturing rural talent.

Furthermore, Revanth shared that discussions are underway with a South Korean sports university to seek collaboration and assistance.

He encouraged all athletes to aim high, urging them to commit to winning multiple gold medals at the upcoming 2028 Olympics, while assuring them of the necessary support and infrastructure.
