Watch: Chennaiyin's Elsinho suffers head injury after mid-pitch collision
Chennaiyin were leading at the time of the unfortunate incident.
The ISL fixture between Chennaiyin and Hyderabad on Wednesday witnessed a moment that nobody wishes to see on a football pitch - a player being whisked away for treatment in an ambulance.
The moment occurred in the 55th minute when Elsinho, a Brazilian midfielder who substituted skipper Ryan Edwards in the first half, collided with Laldinpuia when attempting to defend a cross in front of his own goal.
After the mid-air collision, both players hit the ground and collapsed on the turf even as other players on the field drew the attention of medical staff.
After brief medial attention was administered on the pitch, an ambulance arrived and Elsinho, with a neck brace on, was rushed away for further medical attention.
