Kerala were crowned the champions of the 75th Santosh Trophy after they beat West Bengal in the final following a nail-biting match that went on to the penalty shoot-outs at the Manjeri Payyanad Stadium in Malappuram, Kerala.
With both teams ending the 90 minutes action into a goalless draw, the match headed into the extra time. Dilip Orawn put West Bengal ahead in the first half of the extra time with a sublime header, only to be equalised by Kerala's Bibin in the second half of the extra time, who also delivered a flying header past the West Bengal goalie.
The match, levelled at 1-1 headed to the shoot-outs where the hosts sealed the game by 5-4.
