Kangchup Road Young Physical and Sports Association (KRYPHSA) and Gokulam Kerala FC will be eyeing their maiden Indian Women's League (IWL) title when they face-off in the finals on February 14 in Bangalore.

While the Manipur-based KRYPHSA had gone down in the semi-finals two years ago in a penalty shoot-out against eventual champions Rising Student's Club, Gokulam succumbed in the semis 2-4 against Manipur Police last year.

Performance in the group stage

KRYPHSA impressed with their defence in the group stages of the IWL 2020, where they did not concede a single goal. However, they conceded a goal against Kenkre in the semis, but managed to outwit the side 3-1 to reach the summit clash. In Sweety Devi, Lilthoingambi Devi and Pakpi Devi, the side has an impressive defensive line-up, with Babysana Devi and Anju Tamang manning the mid-field. Skipper Dangmei Grace along with Roja Devi and Ratanbala Devi have been lethal and have led KRYPHSA from the front, and will hold the aces in the finals.

Gokulam, on the other hand, have the best offence in the tournament and netted a staggering 28 goals in five games in the league stages. They netted three more in the semis where they got the better of the defending champions Sethu FC. Their most dominant win the season was a 10-1 bashing of Kenkre in the group stages, and the side will be looking for an encore.

In Sabitra Bhandari, who has scored 18 goals thus far, and Kamala Devi, Gokulam have two of the best players, with the latter scoring 10 goals. Michel Castanha, Kashmina and Grace Hauhnar too have been on the mark in the middle, while Umapati Devi and Manisa Panna have formed a formidable pairing at the back. With goal-keeper Aditi Chauhan's quick reflexes as well, Gokulam will fancy their chances in the finals.
