Odisha FC striker Roy Krishna will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an ACL (Grade 3) injury sustained during the game against Hyderabad FC, the club confirmed via a statement on Wednesday.

The statement said, "The Fijian forward has been a key player for the club, contributing significantly to their success after joining last season."

It further added that "his absence will undoubtedly be a major blow to the team's attacking prowess."

In the match against Hyderabad FC on November 25, Roy Krishna went down holding his right knee in the eleventh minute, chasing after a high ball and landed awkwardly with his leg.

The chance was subsequently converted by Isak, the first of the six goals Odisha scored in that game but for Roy Krishna, he was unable to continue.

He got subbed off in the 17th minute for Diego Mauricio and with that, his ISL season is at an end.

Head Coach, Sergio Lobera (on Roy's injury): "We are deeply saddened to announce that Roy is out for the season, as confirmed earlier by our medical team. We are losing an incredible player and one of the best professionals I have ever worked with."

"I am confident he will recover well and come back stronger to help us. It's always difficult to accept such setbacks however, we must keep moving forward and remain focused on our work," he added.

Roy Krishna had played in all nine matches of the ISL season so far, scoring three goals in the process. His absence will be a miss for the Kalinga.
