Indian Super League is just one week away from the halfway stage. Still, the level of competition continues to be at its top-notch level as few bottom-placed teams register great comeback victories this week.

After the Match Week 12, Mohun Bagan SG maintained their dominance on the top of the league table after an injury-time winner against Kerala Blasters whereas Bengaluru FC dropped two points against FC Goa.

In addition, the quality of goals keeps on improving from both the Indian players and the foreigners, scoring all types of goals being it the out-of-the-box curling goals or cheeky 6-yard headed goals.

Here’s The Bridge’s Team of the Week for Matchweek 12:

Goalkeeper

Vishal Kaith - Mohun Bagan SG

Vishal Kaith is proving his worth with every passing game, commanding the Mohun Bagan's penalty box with high takes and brilliant saves. He had a great game against Kerala Blasters this week.

He made six saves throughout the match which included a brilliant one-hand save in the second minute of the match to deny a thunderous out-of-the-box strike from Noah Sadaoui.

Defenders

Ashish Rai - Mohun Bagan SG

Ashish Rai had a very tough ask this week against Kerala Blasters FC as he had the responsibility of man-marking the explosive winger, Noah Sadaoui of Morocco.

The young Indian full-back lived up to this task by winning two of the three duels and also turned the defense into an attack with eight accurate long balls from the left flank.

Sandesh Jhingan - FC Goa

The Indian center-back has been in great form since his comeback to the side after his long injury layoff. He continued the same against Bengaluru FC this week making seven clearances and winning five of the six duels.

He also scored his first goal of the season in the seventh minute to give his team an early lead with the clean header on the near side of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

Alberto Rodríguez - Mohun Bagan SG

The Spaniard Alberto Rodríguez had an outstanding game against Kerala Blasters FC, leading the defensive duty winning all his ground duels and 50 percent of the Aerial duels.

He had the biggest impact of the match in injury time, scoring a brilliant out-of-the-box winner on a loose ball to the top right corner of the Blasters's goal.

Roshan Singh - Bengaluru FC

Roshan Singh is one of the best players on the field for Bengaluru FC this season as he is helping the team's defense on various occasions using his speedy runs on the left flank.

This week, he also made an assist for Jorge Peryra Diaz with a precise minus ball after jumping on a deflected ball, which helped the team snatch one point from the match.

Midfielders

Jerry Mawihmingthanga - Odisha FC

Jerry scored an equalizer for Odisha FC in the away game against East Bengal this week, helping the team to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

He was the live wire on the right flank and had one more opportunity to double his tally but his shot narrowly missed the target and hit the woodwork.

Dimitri Petratos - Mohun Bagan SG

Dimitri Petratos was the key man in the midfield of Mohun Bagan in the absence of Greg Stewart, making a lot of chances for the forwards with his accurate crosses and dribbling skills.

He also made an assist for Jason Cummings for the equalizer, which helped his side make a remarkable comeback in the final 10 minutes of the match.

Ryan Williams - Bengaluru FC

Ryan Williams scored an important goal in the match against FC Goa to start a comeback in the match for Bengaluru FC, who was trailing by two goals.

He had a few more opportunities to score goals but was unlucky as his shot either deflected out from the woodwork or was saved brilliantly by Goa's goalkeeper.

Brandon Fernandes - FC Goa

The experienced Indian midfielder left a solid impact in the match against Mohammedan FC, commanding the team's midfield play with his solid tackles.

He also used his physical play to win six of the nine duels in the midfield, stopping the opponent team to stretch the game and build an attack.

Forwards

Javier Siverio - Jamshedpur FC

The Spaniard was one of the best players this week, scoring a hardworking brace against Punjab FC and registering back-to-back wins for the team this season.

He had seven shots in the match and found the target on three of the occasions. Also, he was brilliant in the air, winning 12 of the 16 aerial duels, troubling Punjab's defensive lineup.

Irfan Yadwad - Chennaiyin FC

The young Indian striker has impressed a lot this season, which also resulted in his maiden national team call-up. He again proved himself this week against Hyderabad FC, winning most of his duels in the attack.

He tested Hyderabad's defense by taking a lot of shots in the match. One of his shots found the back of the net and proved to be the winner, giving three crucial points at home.
