Ahead of their seventh Indian Super League (ISL) campaign, JSW Group-owned Bengaluru FC were the only team who did not begin their pre-season in Goa. Instead, they chose to start in Bellary with their domestic players before making the journey to the centralised venue for the 2020-21 season.

Now the team has finished the mandatory quarantine in Goa and is back on the field. Having failed to make it to the finals last season for the first time since making their ISL debut in 2017, Bengaluru FC are eager to give a good account of themselves this season. Here’s everything you need to know about the Blues —

Coach speak:

Carles Cuadrat: The calendar sees us face four teams that have started a new project with a completely different core of players and news coaches, in the first four rounds. This means it will be very difficult to know what to expect from them.

It is clear that FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Chennaiyin FC and NorthEast United have made an effort to add strong foreigners to their squad, so I am sure they are going to be tough opponents. But tactically speaking, we will have to wait until we see them perform in the first rounds of the competition. What is sure is that we have an exciting season ahead for all of us.
