Bengaluru FC continued their impressive start to the ISL 2024-25 season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Punjab FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Naorem Roshan Singh’s first-half strike proved to be the difference as the Blues secured their fourth win of the season and maintained their spot at the top of the table.

The win also marked Bengaluru FC's fifth consecutive clean sheet, setting a new ISL record for most minutes without conceding at the start of a season.

#5 Bengaluru FC Set New Clean Sheet Record

With their fifth consecutive clean sheet, Bengaluru FC surpassed Jamshedpur FC's record for the longest streak without conceding a goal from the start of an ISL season.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is now the third goalkeeper in ISL history to achieve five consecutive clean sheets, following in the footsteps of Subrata Paul (Mumbai City FC in 2014) and Arshdeep Singh (FC Goa in the 2023-24 season).

The Blues have now gone 481 minutes without letting in a goal, highlighting their defensive solidity under Gerard Zaragoza.

#4 Naorem Roshan Singh’s Decisive Strike

The match’s only goal came courtesy of Naorem Roshan Singh in the 43rd minute, after a deflected cross from Jorge Pereyra Diaz landed at his feet.

Roshan’s composed finish proved to be the match-winner and showcased his importance in Bengaluru FC's attack.

#3 Bengaluru's Offensive Threat Early On

The Blues were proactive from the start, with early chances falling to Roshan Singh and Edgar Mendez.

Despite Punjab FC’s defense held firm in the opening stages, Bengaluru’s persistent pressure paid off just before halftime.

#2 Punjab FC’s Missed Opportunities

Punjab FC had several chances to equalize, especially after Bengaluru went down to 10 men in the 58th minute.

Their best opportunity came in the 74th minute when Mushaga Bakenga hit the crossbar after a defensive error from Roshan Singh.

However, their inability to capitalize on these chances proved costly.

#1 Bengaluru FC Maintain Top Spot

This victory gives Bengaluru FC a four-point lead at the top of the ISL table. Despite going a man down, their defensive resilience and clinical finishing kept them in control, reinforcing their title aspirations for the season.
