Indian Super League (ISL) outfit ATK Mohun Bagan FC, on Tuesday, announced the signing of Indian striker Manvir Singh from FC Goa. The 24-year-old joined on a three-year deal that will keep him at the Kolkata-based club until 2023.

Manvir impressed for FC Goa over the last two seasons after signing from Mohammedan Sporting Club in 2017. In 2019-20, he did not get much game time and yet managed to score two goals. ATKMB had their eyes on Manvir and had moved early to secure his signing even before the season ended.

The newly-formed club had to pay Goa a significant transfer fee, believed to be around the region of INR 90 lakhs, to prise the centre forward away. With a an AFC Cup challenge coming up next season, Antonio Lopes Habas knew that he needs to strengthen the domestic core of the team and hence, Manvir was identified as someone who could compete with Joby Justin.

On announcement of his signing, Manvir said, “Kolkata has a special place in my heart and I am very happy to be back here. It will be a great honour to turn out for this special club in green and maroon and I look forward to representing ATK Mohun Bagan FC for years to come.”
