ISL 2020-21: SC East Bengal to hold screening Kolkata derby at club ground

You can take fans out of football but never football out of the fans’. While the 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL) is slowly gathering momentum, the time has come for the rest of the league to experience the biggest match in Indian football, the Kolkata derby.

This derby is going to be different though, what with the tournament being held in its entirety in Goa and without fans inside the stadium. However, the ISL new boys have arranged for their fans to enjoy the club’s first match against arch rivals ATK Mohun Bagan on a giant screen at the club ground.

The match at Goa’s Tilak Maidan will be streamed live with arrangements also made for food and refreshments for fans. Of course, all of this will be done in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Health Ministry. The sitting arrangement will also be done keeping in mind the social distancing norms.

Fans will be allowed inside the club ground from 7:00 pm onwards with kick-off scheduled half an hour later and they will be required to be wearing masks for the entire duration of their stay.

The match is also going to be screened live by the fan group East Bengal Ultras near Dunlop, in the northern part of the city. There is going to be another such event in Siliguri, where the North Bengal wing of East Bengal Ultras will host a free screening near the beautiful and picturesque Kanchenjunga Stadium.

ATK Mohun Bagan fan group Birati Mariners will also be hosting a live screening of their own in Birati, North Kolkata while other such screenings are scheduled for localities in South Kolkata as well as in Hooghly district which is a couple of hours away from the city proper.
