ISL 2020-21: Jamshedpur FC vs FC Goa - Preview, Predicted Lineups and Channel
Preview
An ever-improving Jamshedpur FC host FC Goa at the Tilak Maidan stadium in the Indian Super League (ISL) tomorrow night. Owen Coyle’s side are 5th on the table while their opponents on the night are currently 7th. The Men of Steel haven’t lost in their last six, but they have also won only two of those games. It will therefore be interesting to see if Coyle goes the attacking route with Nerijus Valskis, Jackichand Singh and Aniket Jadhav all in the starting eleven. For Juan Ferrando’s side, this is a must win game after two successive defeats.

The Gaurs started the ISL season brightly but have looked a shadow of themselves lately. Much of that has been due to the fixture congestion in their case. However, they will be taking solace from the fact that they won the same fixture 5-0 last season, and with most of their big names now fully fit, we can expect an entertaining contest. Ferrando’s side have three wins in the head-to-head battle against Jamshedpur who have two, while the other match was a draw. Moreover, with an average of 2.83 goals scored every time these two sides meet, this should be a great watch for the neutrals.
Squad overview
Owen Coyle has had to deal with a number of long-term injuries so far. Narender Gehlot, Joyner Lorenco, David Grande and Nick Fitzgerald have barely made an appearance this season so far. Therefore, the fact that the Red Miners are still within touching distance of the top 4 deserves a lot of praise. Aitor Monroy should return after serving his suspension to partner Alex Lima in midfield. The consistent Mobashir Rahman and Jackichand Singh should also get starts while Aniket Jadhav remains Coyle’s trump card in attack.

FC Goa have been brilliant and extremely mediocre in equal measure this season. Last year’s league champions need to settle down at the back and ensure that Igor Angulo gets the supply that he thrives on. For that to happen, the likes of Brandon Fernandes, Alberto Noguera, Jorge Ortiz and Edu Bedia have to start taking more responsibility in midfield.
Ferrando will also be expected to bring Ivan Gonzalez back into the eleven after a couple of unconvincing performances from Aiban Dohling. Alexander Jesuraj has been the sole bright spot in the past two games and should make another start while the match-up between former teammates Saviour Gama and Jackichand Singh down Jamshedpur’s right side should be entertaining.
