Kerala Blasters FC captain Bartholomew Ogbeche's thunderous strike from outside the penalty area against Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) has been voted the Fan's Goal of 2019-20 season.

A deserving winner, Ogbeche’s goal was simply incredible. Having won a freekick some 30-yards out, Mario Arques decided to pull off an intelligent routine. Instead of shooting directly at the goal, the Spanish midfielder laid the ball off for Ogbeche, who unleashed a venomous shot that flew past the Chennaiyin defenders and a hapless goalkeeper Vishal Kaith.

At that moment, Chennaiyin were already leading 1-0 and Ogbeche managed to draw level for the visitors. However, by the end of the match, it would just be a consolation as the Tuskers lost the Southern Derby 1-3.

In the return game in Kochi, Ogbeche scored a hat-trick, but even then the Blasters went down 3-6 to Chennaiyin.

The Nigerian striker, who had joined Kerala after a superb season with NorthEast, ended up as the joint top-scorer (15 goals) along with ATK FC's Roy Krishna and Chennaiyin’s Nerijus Valskis. Nevertheless, Kerala could not make it to the play-offs, finishing seventh in the 10-team competition.
