India produced a commanding performance to defeat Lebanon 4-0 in their final Group B match of the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 in Suzhou on Friday. The victory marked the Young Tigresses’ first win at the tournament in 21 years and kept their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive.
Pritika Barman starred with a brace, opening the scoring with a brilliant solo effort before adding India’s fourth late in the game. Alva Devi Senjam doubled the lead before half-time, while Joya added a third with an excellent finish in the second half.
With the emphatic victory, India completed their group-stage campaign on a high after defeats to Australia and Japan. The Young Tigresses will now wait for the remaining Group C results later tonight to know whether the win is enough to secure a historic quarter-final berth.
