The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc the sports industry in India. Though the ongoing I-League season has come to a halt, the Kolkata giants East Bengal FC is on a roll with their transfer market. According to sources, they are all set to sign Kerala born Mohamed Irshad for the upcoming season from Gokulam Kerala FC and Bikramjit Singh from Odisha FC.
Irshad has been a regular for Gokulam Kerala side and was a part of the team that defeated Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup final in in 2019. He has previously played for the DSK Shivajians in the I-League back in 2015/16. Irshad, who is a midfielder, can also play as a fullback.
Bikramjit is also a midfielder, who has played for rival club Mohun Bagan in 2014-15 season. Other than than, he had donned jerseys for FC Goa, Cheenaiyin and Delhi Dynamos. The Punjab lad is known for his hard tackles in the midfield.
Mohun Bagan has already won the I-League this season, however, many games are yet to be played. The fate of the ongoing season will be decided on Saturday by the AIFF.
