Chennaiyin FC star midfielder Rafael Crivellaro is all set to make a move to a new club in the summer window, The Bridge can confirm, and Kolkata giants East Bengal are in talks with the player for a possible move.

The recently curtailed I-League season turned out to be hugely disappointing for the Red and Golds. They got off to a poor start in the I-League and could never really turn around the season. To make matters worse for the fans, arch rivals Mohun Bagan went on to win their second league title with four matches in hand.

It is no secret that the century old club is desperate to regain its lost glory. They have been one of the most active clubs in the current transfer market, as they look to build a strong team capable of competing in the Indian Super League (ISL).

In Indo-Iranian star Omid Singh, East Bengal have already roped in a top winger and sources have now confirmed that they have identified Crivellaro as a potential addition in midfield. In fact, they have already begun talks with the 31-year-old Brazilian over a possible move ahead of the next season.

Crivellaro, a youth academy product of Internacional, joined Chennaiyin FC in 2019. Alongside Nerijus Valskis, he helped the Chennai-based ISL franchise reach the final even after enduring one of the poorest starts. The Brazilian box-to-box midfielder scored seven and assisted eight goals in 20 appearances.

Though it’s still not clear whether East Bengal will take part in ISL next season or not, the big-money transfers asserts the high possibilities that they might step into the top fleet league of the country, come next season.

Thus, the addition of Crivellaro in the roaster for next season will surely be crucial and a moral boost for East Bengal. It's time who will answer if the deal turns pen on paper for the Kolkata giants or not.
