"Champions aren't made in a day; they are forged through sweat, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit."
These were the words of Gokulam Kerala Women's team head coach Rajeev P after his side successfully defended their Kerala Women’s League title with a 2-0 victory over Kerala United on the final matchday at Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, on Saturday.
This marks Gokulam Kerala’s third Kerala Women’s League title, having previously won in the third and fifth editions.
"Proud of the team's performance and how they executed our plans," he further added.
Meanwhile, their senior squad is currently second in the IWL with 14 points, continuing their strong presence in Indian women's football.
"Many players showcased their quality, and I hope to see them earn more game time in our IWL squad," he said.
Gokulam Kerala secured the title with 25 points from 10 matches (8 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss), edging out Kerala United, who finished with 24 points.
However, despite winning the league, Gokulam will not be promoted to Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL 2) since they are a reserve team.
