FC Goa secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over East Bengal in their first away match of the ISL 2023-24 season at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The Gaurs staged a remarkable comeback after Naorem Mahesh Singh initially scored for the hosts in the 40th minute.
Despite losing star winger Noah Sadaoui to injury just before kick-off, FC Goa's second-half resurgence, led by goals from Sandesh Jhingan in the 74th and Victor Rodriguez in the 75th minute, sealed the win. The victory propelled them to second place on the league table, with three consecutive wins, putting them in close contention for the top spot with Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
