Mohun Bagan conceded an early goal in the match after a penalty strike conversion from Luca Mjacen.
They tried to find the equalizer and started putting extreme pressure on the Punjab side, who showed a solid defense to avoid them.
But in the 44th minute, Greg Strewart's shot took a wicked deflection of his own teammate Suhail, and found the bottom corner of the net to put the match on equal terms at halftime.
