Delhi High Court direct PSC to conduct a re-hearing of Anwar Ali's case
Along with setting aside the initial hearing done by the AIFF PSC, it has also cast aside the NOC given to Anwar Ali.
The Delhi High Court today set aside the AIFF Player Status Committee (PSC) proceeding of the Anwar Ali transfer debacle and has ordered a rehearing tomorrow.
Furthermore, it has also set aside the NOC issued by the PSC earlier, which enabled Anwar Ali to proceed with the transfer to ISL club East Bengal FC (EBFC) and be presented as their player.
The court issued the ruling after AIFF's lawyer admitted that the grounds were not written yet, prompting the HC to question how a verdict can be told without written grounds.
On 10th September, the PSC had ruled a four-month suspension for Indian footballer Anwar Ali, including a fine of Rs. 12.9 crore to be paid to Mohun Bagan SG by Anwar Ali, East Bengal FC and Delhi FC collectively.
The suspension was due to the 'illegal termination' of Anwar Ali's four-year loan deal with Mohun Bagan SG after just one year.
Added to this, the PSC also ordered a ban on new player registration for Delhi FC and East Bengal for two transfer windows.
A day later, Anwar Ali moved the Delhi High Court seeking an overturn of the suspension imposed by the AIFF's PSC.
This has proved to be yet another turn in the transfer saga that has been the talk of the town leading up to the 2024-25 edition of the ISL.
