A second-half masterclass from Lynda Kom propelled India's Odisha FC to a thrilling 4-1 victory over Singapore's Lion City Sailors in their AFC Women's Champions League 2024-25 preliminary stage clash on Sunday.

The match at the Prince Mohammed Stadium started as a tightly contested battle. But Odisha gained the upper hand following an own goal by Lion City's Dorcas Chu in the 20th minute.

The Singaporean side, however, showed resilience and levelled the score just before half-time through Raeka Ee.

The second half saw a re-ignited Odisha FC. Lynda Kom showcased her brilliance with two quick-fire goals in the 54th and 57th minutes, putting Odisha firmly in control of the proceedings.

A late own goal by Syazwani Ruzi sealed a convincing win for the Indian side.

This victory set Odisha FC up perfectly for their final group match against Etihad Club, scheduled for Saturday. The Jordanian team will face Lion City Sailors on Wednesday before meeting their Indian counterparts.
