The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has responded to ISL club Mohun Bagan's pulling out from traveling to Iran for their AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) fixture against Tractor SC, which was supposed to take place on Wednesday at Tabriz.

In a statement, the AFC said that it has "taken note of Mohun Bagan Super Giant's intentions to not travel to Iran for the club's AFC Champions League Two fixture against Tractor SC."

It further added that "the matter will be referred to the relevant AFC Committees with further updates to be communicated in due course."

Mohun Bagan cited the security situation and political unrest in the region as their reason for not traveling.

It is yet to be determined whether the match, which was to be played at Yadegar Imam Stadium, will be rescheduled.

Mohun Bagan, the ISL Shield winners of 2023/24, are in Group A with Qatar's Al Wakrah SC, Iran's Tractor SC, and Tajikistan's Ravshan Kulob.

They were held to a 0-0 draw by Ravshan Kulob in their opening match at the Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata last month.

The ACL Two is Asia’s second-tier club football competition organized by the AFC with the top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16.
