AFC Champions League 2: FC Goa go down to Al Zawraa – HIGHLIGHTS
FC Goa squander home advantage and chances before succumbing in their Group D fixture.

A day after Mohun Bagan failed to impress, FC Goa kickstarted its AFC Cup campaign against Iraq’s Al Zawraa in the opening Group D league match at the Fatorda Stadium on Wednesday.
The Goan outfit got here courtesy their 2-1 defeated of Oman’s Al Seeb Club.
FC Goa is placed in a tough group that features Tajikistan’s FC Istiklol and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, who they will play in October.
Goa created a host of chances through the game, but were let down by ordinary finishing.

From a good position, Borja has a crack, he manages to the clear the wall but the ball never really comes down.
The ball sails over the cross back rather harmlessly.

The Zawraa skipper in goal makes a stunning save by tipping the ball over the crossbar.
That is perhaps the closest that Goa has come to scoring.

They need to find a way to break the Zawraa defensive lines and get shots on goal.
The Zawraa keeper hasn't had too many saves to do what so ever in the game thus far.

Zawraa are exactly where they would have wanted to be.
They lead going into half-time.

It's a move from the right flank, they keep Goa guessing with a barrage of crosses.
Goa throw bodies on the line, they save a shot but off the rebound, Reziq finds the back of the net in a goal-mouth melee.

It was a free kick from the right flank from Zawraa and a slick flick-on header from inside the box and the ball was heading to the far corner.
But Hrithik was alert in the goal for Goa.
