The Asian Cadet Cup, a major international fencing championship featuring young athletes from across the continent, will be held here from November 20-23.

The tournament will feature more than 500 athletes, coaches, officials and technical personnel from over 30 countries. The competitions will be held across three fencing weapons -- Epee, Foil, and Sabre.

The championship is being organised by the Fencing Association of India under the aegis of the Asian Fencing Confederation, along with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.

“This event will provide our young fencers and athletes from across Asia with valuable international exposure and help create a strong pathway towards future Asian Games, World Championships and Olympic success,” FAI secretary general Rajeev Mehta said in a release.

This development comes just months after India hosted the 2026 Asian Senior Fencing Championships in Delhi earlier this year.
