Bollywood is the lifeblood for Indians. The money, fame and glamour attached with the industry attracts commoners towards it. The actors in Bollywood are looked upon as role models by youth of the country. Here, we look at some Bollywood stars who are trained in the martial art of Taekwondo

Neetu Chandra

Known for movies like Garam Masala and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Neetu Chandra also has a fourth degree Dan black belt in Taekwondo. The 36 year old, has also represented India in the World Taekwondo Championship in 1997 and more recently in 2017 World Taekwondo Championships in South Korea as well.

Akshay Kumar

The ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is a black belt in Taekwondo. He, in fact, learnt the martial art much before entering Bollywood. He learnt Taekwondo in India, before moving to Thailand to learn Muay Thai. Upon his return from Thailand, he started teaching martial arts in Mumbai, it was here that one of his photographer students asked him to model for a shoot and paved a way for him to enter into Bollywood.

Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff is one of the leading martial artists in Bollywood. The actor was awarded with a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo in 2014 after his debut movie, Heropanti. The officials stated that Tiger is a youth icon and who could inspire the youth of the country to take up the martial art as the reason for awarding him with the 5th degree black belt.

Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn was honoured by Taekwondo masters from South Korea for his contribution to martial arts through his films Felicitation of Ajay Devgan by Taekwondo Masters

The Singham actor, Ajay Devgn was awarded with Dan black belt by South Korea’s Taekwondo Masters in 2014. Being a trained martial artist, he was awarded the black belt for his contribution of the martial art in Indian cinema.

Isha Koppikar

Known for movies like Kya kool hai hum and Don, Isha Koppikar holds a black belt in Taekwondo. The actress had also recently posted a video of her teaching her daughter the basics of the martial art.

Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit trained in Taekwondo during the time she was in the city of Denver, Colorado. She even credited her training in Taekwondo for her action sequence in the

2014 film, Gulaab Gang.

Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao is proving his mettle in the film industry with every film he is acting in. Many of his fans don’t know that Rao practices Taekwondo daily as a part of his workout. In a previous interview with a leading national daily, Rajkummar Rao had expressed how he wishes to act in an action flick sometime soon. He has also revealed back then that he is a trained martial artist with full-fledged knowledge about Taekwondo since an early age.

Neil Nitin Mukesh

Known for movies like Players and Golmaal Again, Neil Nitin Mukesh took a crash course in Taekwondo during the year 2010.

Kangana Ranaut

The ‘queen’ of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut had undergone training in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo for her role in the movie Krrish 3, alongside Hrithik Roshan.

Nandana Sen

Known for movies like Rang Rasiya, the now 53 year old Nandana Sen had trained in Taekwondo in 2010 for a movie.
