The Away View: Chennaiyin FC vs Mumbai City FC – First win in the bag, dangerous Chhangte and more
After winning their first game away from home at Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City FC will be upbeat ahead of their second game against Chennaiyin FC on Sunday. We caught up with West Coast Brigade member Mayuresh Sadekar who shared his thoughts as his team preps to take on the two-time Indian Super League (ISL) Chennaiyin FC.
The following are excerpts:
Q> Your team had a winning start against Kerala away from home. How important was that win in the context of the rest of the season?
Winning the away game against Kerala was huge getting three points is always huge, whether it is the first game or second game. However, winning the first game gives the team a good head start.
Q> Another away game, this time against Chennai, what do you think about their outfit? Can they challenge Mumbai?
The only little bit of advantage is that we have seen their side perform in their first match. Their first result, however, does not guarantee our win. They look decent in their performance.
Q> Mumbai and Chennaiyin played a pre-season friendly, and both teams have played once in the ISL so far. What kind of fight are you expecting?
I expect 100% performance from both the sides, yes we know some of their playing style from the closed door pre-season friendly we had, however, they could make tactical changes in today's game.
Q> Who will be Chennaiyin's most dangerous player and why?
Chhangte is their main man, he is dangerous on the wings and has a good last season. Hopefully, our defenders will control his movement.
Q> Your prediction...
Chennaiyin 1 - 2 Mumbai City
