National Commission for Protection of Child Rights opposes the return of PUBG in India
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in India has strongly opposed the un-banning of the mobile game Players Unknowns’ BattleGrounds (PUBG) in the country.
In a meeting called to discuss the proposal, NCPCR chairperson Priyanka Kanoongo ‘strongly recommended’ against the re-launch of PUBG Mobile in India some days back.
“It was an internal meeting and prima facie, the NCPCR is not in favour of recommending such games in the country,” Kanoongo told PTI.
According to reports in various portals it is also learnt that, it was pointed out in the meeting that PUBG has led to loss of various lives in the country.

The Battle Royale game PUBG was one of the most popular mobile games in the country, with people of all age groups indulging their pastime in enjoying the game. The game was recently banned by the Indian Government after citing national security reasons after border standoffs with their Chinese counterparts.
The PUBG corporation has since revoked the rights of the Chinese company Tencent over the mobile version and had announced that they would be launching the game again in the country with the name PUBG Mobile India.
This statement from the NCPCR comes at a time when the fans and professional players alike are eagerly waiting for the Indian Government to un-ban the game.
